Biography Personal History I am Roak Citroen. I was born in Indonesia on November 22, 1934. My family relocated to the Netherlands in order to provide my sister and I with a formal education. I completed my formal schooling and immigrated to Canada in 1954. I worked in the private sector until my retirement in 2000. Reiki Journey My mother, who was my first teacher, was extremely sensitive to all positive energy. As a child, she guided me to develop an awareness and appreciation of my innate intuition, creativity and spirituality. This in turn, led to my understanding of the energy life force that cannot be controlled but that can be channeled. Up until 1999, although I had continued to develop my spirituality and intuition, my energies had been primarily focused to my employment endeavours. However, with increasing frequency, ill friends requested my assistance with an energy "boost" during periods of relapse and recovery. In a sense, it was "hands on healing". With my impending retirement and with the experience I had with my ill friends, I decided to commence my Reiki journey. Research led me to my Reiki Master/teacher whose lineage traced to Dr. Mikao Usui who founded or created the healing method that has become known as Reiki. I commenced my studies in 1999, and completed all levels of Usui and Threshold Reiki training. I achieved my Reiki Master/Teacher level in 2000. I achieved my Unified Reiki Master/Teacher level in 2003. I am a registered Reiki Master Practitioner with the Canadian Reiki Association (CRA). The City of Vancouver is where I live and practice. I serve clients from throughout the Lower Mainland of British Columbia including: Burnaby, North Vancouver, New Westminster, Richmond, Surrey and Coquitlam. Generally, I work out of my home. However, I have practiced with geriatrics in long-term care facilities and with drug abuse persons and persons with AIDS at the Dr. Peter Centre. Other healing modalities I am also a practitioner of Therapeutic Touch
